Profile:
Grace is a current student at St Johns Theological College, completing a Bachelor of Theology in preparation for being ordained in the Anglican Church, as part of the Diocese of Auckland. She previously studied at the University of Auckland and graduated with a Bachelor of Social Work (Hons). She worked in the field for several years, specialising in child protection.
She is passionate about how faith impacts and interacts with wider society and culture, as well as how societal changes influence our interpretations of sacred texts. An example of this is seen in the intersection between eco-theology and climate justice: when we read scripture with this in mind, we read about earth and all created beings with autonomy and voice.
Alongside her studies, Grace is currently working as the administrator for New Zealand Christians in Science and is a member of ADJust (Auckland Diocese Young Adults for Social Justice). She is excited to engage with the 2023 NZCIS mentoring programme, to broaden her knowledge and understanding of science and its relationship to faith and theology.
