Profile:
Matson grew up in Southland before moving to Dunedin to study. He is currently working as an assistant research fellow at the Department of Microbiology at Otago University. Last year he completed his Honours in Microbiology at Otago and while it was a challenging year, loved doing research and decided to do a PhD in Microbiology which he is currently in the process of applying for.
Outside of study and work, he enjoys getting outdoors with friends on tramps and other adventures whenever he can. He has been volunteering with Scripture Union for around 5 years helping to run youth camps which he has found to be an incredibly fun and rewarding way to serve others!
